1. What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing uses a high energy beam to remove the outer layer of the skin and expose the underlying layers to significantly improve skin texture.
2. What does Laser Skin Resurfacing treat? What areas can be treated?
Laser Skin Resurfacing is best used for treating fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, pores, dyschromia, dark spots and rhytides, and photo damaged skin. A common area to treat is the face of course and hence the name Laser Facial. Laser Skin Resurfacing can however treat other areas like the neck and arms.
3. How is the WhisperNG MicroLaser Peel different from other Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments?
The WhisperNG uses pinpoint accuracy to deliver more delicate treatments than a chemical peel or a traditional CO2 laser. The unique digital Whisper hand piece provides multiple pulse rates for optimum operator control as well as multiple power levels for precise skin ablation.The large spot size quickly resurfaces specific areas or entire face in shorter time making the treatment more comfortable for the patient.
The MicroLaser Peel with the WhisperNG is not painful compared to other forms of Laser Resurfacing. There is no need for anesthesia and no extended healing time. During the treatment you will feel a mild sensation as the laser lightly peels away the top layer of your skin.
5. What do I expect after the WhisperNG treatment? How long is the recovery time?
Right after treatment your skin will be pink and feel a little dry with a light sunburn-like sensation. The redness will last for a few days. In the rare event that you experience swelling, ice compresses and appropriate medication can be prescribed by our physician. As necessary, we will prescribe some creams or ointments to keep the skin moist and protected as you heal. On day 2, your skin will begin to peel at which point makeup can be applied to cover any residual erythema. On days 3 and 4, skin exfoliation continues as new cells replace dead, dry ones. On day 5, you will see noticeable improvements in both skin textures and tightness. The skin will appear younger, healthier and more vibrant. It is worth noting that during the recovery period and up to a month after treatment, you should protect your skin from excessive sun light and should avoid tanning.
6. What is the expected outcome of the WhisperNG treatment?
