Answers...

1. How does Radiesse® work?

Our physician injects Radiesse® just below the surface of the skin in order to fill in the deep creases and folds on your face like the nasolabial folds. The physician can also use Radiesse® to enhance the area surrounding the lips and to minimize acne scars. As the natural volume between your skin layers is restored, wrinkles and folds are lifted up resulting in younger smoother skin.

2. How long does Radiesse® last?

Radiesse® is known for its longevity. Patients enjoy results for up to 2 years. Depending on the area treated, the improvement in creases and wrinkles can last for a long time. Touch-up work will be needed after a year has passed. As with other dermal treatments, results do vary individually and it is best to discuss your individual case with our physician.

3. Where can Radiesse® be used?

Radiesse® can be used to smooth brow lines and crow’s feet, minimize smoker lines, fill frown lines, reduce deep lines around mouth and nose, plump up smile lines, fill in lips while defining lip borders, restore the fullness in cheeks, and fill in deeper acne scars like ice pick scars.

4. What should I expect at treatment time?

Our physician inserts the gel into the treatment areas with a tiny needle. The cream-like material then lifts up and smoothes the wrinkles. No anesthesia is needed for the injection, however; our physician may numb the area in order to ease any discomfort associated with the injection.

5. Is there any recovery time associated with Radiesse®?

You may experience some mild swelling and/or bruising at the injection site. You may also have some itching, redness, and discoloration. Most and all side effects if any disappear within a couple of days. There is no down time and in general patients can return to normal daily activity immediately after the treatment.

6. Can Patients with different skin tones/colors be treated with Radiesse®?

Yes. Radiesse® injectable gel is an FDA-approved dermal filler and has proven its safety and effectiveness for Patients with different skin color.

7. Are there other cosmetic injectables and/or treatments that can be done in conjunction with Radiesse®?

It is very common for patients to combine Radiesse® with other cosmetic procedures such as Botox® injections, FotoFacial™ RF, Refirme™, and laser skin resurfacing. Treatment combinations and options are presented to you at the time of your complimentary consult.
